Quoys, Lerwick

The site for this new house was restricted by a steep rocky embankment to the rear of the site and this restricted the size of the ground floor level which sat below the level of the rocky slope.

The first floor space was less restricted as the height was sufficient to build out over the lower level of the slope which forms the garden area. The living accommodation is located on the first floor which also benefits from the best of the views over the houses below and out towards the sea.

The bedrooms are located on the ground floor and the attic space has been designed to allow for future conversion into additional accommodation if required.
