PJP Welcomes a New Member

Having worked closely alongside us for the past two years we are delighted to announce that Greg Burgess has now become a member of PJP Architects LLP.

Since 2007 Greg was the sole practitioner of GB Design Services which undertook a wide range of domestic and commercial design works including new houses, extensions, alterations, conversations, site inspections along with contract administration duties, planning and warrant approvals. Greg is also an Approved Certifier of Design for Section 6 Energy of Domestic buildings and accredited for undertaking energy assessment and providing Energy Performance Certificates for both domestic and non-domestic building.

Prior to setting up the business Greg worked for the Shetland Islands Council as a Building Standards Surveyor and a Building Maintenance Officer. Before working for the Shetland Islands Council Greg was employed as a Site Manager for a local building contractor. During this time Greg has gained extensive experience in construction methods and has a vast knowledge of building design, stock, defects and remedial works in Shetland.

Over the past two years we have benefitted from Greg’s wide range of experience in the construction industry and his extensive knowledge of current energy efficiency requirements and we are pleased to welcome him to the practice.

With the ever increasing significance of compliance with energy efficiency regulations when designing new or altering existing buildings our clients can benefit from a coordinated in-house service which considers these requirements at all stages of a project. We can advise on suitable energy efficiency measures for our client’s projects, provide certification as an

Approved Certifier of Design for the energy section of the building regulations and issue an Energy Performance Certificate on completion of the project.
