The original care home on this very constrained corner site had become unsatisfactory in terms of statutory registration requirements, and feasibility studies led to demolition and rebuilding. This involved extensive consultation as the site lies within a conservation area.The three-storey part of the building on the corner is a faithful replica of the original exterior, the rest being designed to harmonise.
