Clickimin Entrance & Gym

The existing entrance to the Clickimin Leisure Complex in Lerwick was an unheated glazed link which joined the original leisure centre building to the swimming pool complex which was built later.  This link led to separate reception spaces within these two main buildings and was in need of replacement so the proposal was to remove this existing link and replace it with a new extension which would house a central reception and entrance area.  The existing gym facilities within the complex were outgrowing their current space and so the project also involved the replacement of this existing gym with a new purpose built facility within the new extension.  The result is a new welcoming entrance area with a single reception to help simplify the operation of the centre and a spacious new gym facility which better suits the increasing number of gym users who use the complex.
