Hill Grind and Burnbank Housing, Lerwick

This development was on the site of former chalet housing which had been demolished and was part of a wider redevelopment of the area to replace temporary housing with permanent social housing.  The site sits on Staney Hill in Lerwick and the previously redeveloped housing nearby has a mixture of brightly painted blue and red timber cladding.  This new housing filled in two gap sites within the overall development and comprised of a mixture of one, two and three bedroom houses and flats.  The cladding used was a mixture of larch cladding and painted timber cladding which matched the colours of the neighbouring houses.
